IB Coordinator

Hello SJE Families!

 

I  am very excited to be the coordinator the the IB program here at SJE.  My role is to support our teachers and students in developing curiosity and learning through inquiry. I help plan and present staff development, facilitate the collaboration around our units of inquiry and gather evidence to support our standards and practices. 

 

Before beginning my journey as a coordinator, my role was classroom teacher.  I started in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and then moved here to California.  I have been teaching in the SJUSD for the last 20 years.  I started here at SJE and moved over to Megan Cope Elementary.  Finally in 2019 I decided to come back to home and join the IB program here at SJE. 

 

Although, I love teaching and leaving the classroom was a tough decision, I am thrilled with being able to work with more students than just one class.  I also get to support my fellow teachers and parents.
