PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Parents and Guardians:

I would like to welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year! I hope you had a relaxing summer break. We are happy to be back and anxious to start the new school year. The staff at San Jacinto Elementary is looking forward to working together to provide the best learning opportunities for your children. SJE is excited to be an official AVID elementary school. Our goal is to make students independent, lifelong learners. The AVID Program will stress the importance of responsibility and independence. We are also thrilled to have technology readily available for every student. We also continue to implement our Positive Behavioral Intervention Program, PBIS. It continues to help us create a SAFE school through positive discipline.

Please be sure your child has a healthy breakfast and arrives every day to school on time. School starts at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 3:15 pm for grades 1-5 and 2:15 for Kindergarten. Every Friday will continue to be a minimum day. This will allow teachers more time to collaborate and focus on our student's needs. Students will begin school at 8:45 am. and be dismissed at 1:35 pm except kindergarten who will dismiss at 12:25. Please keep in mind that if the student is not with their teacher when the 8:45 bell rings they are considered tardy and will need to enter through the office to receive a pass to class.

As your Principal, it will be my responsibility to ensure your child is provided with a learning environment that is safe and promotes positive character building. The staff and I strongly believe in a school and home partnership. We encourage you to actively participate in the education of your child. By working together, staff and parents will teach children to how to: get along better at home and school; succeed in school, and be more self-directed in life.
